Before joining Quartz as Vp, Advertising & Strategy in November of 2013, Robins was VP Digital Ad Sales at BBC Worldwide Americas
NEW YORK, NY – November 16, 2017 – Joy Robins has been promoted to lead both sales and marketing in the newly established role of Chief Revenue Officer, Quartz President and Publisher Jay Lauf announced today.
Since joining Quartz in November of 2013, Robins has led triple digit growth in Quartz’s client base and revenue globally.
“We have established ourselves as a leader in innovation, user experience and advertiser satisfaction in just five years,” said Robins. “It’s the foundation for much more growth and expansion in the years ahead”.
Robins has been a strong and powerful voice in the industry since her time at BBC where she led digital ad sales efforts for six years. She has held previous roles at OMD and NBC before joining Quartz. She was honored by Ad Age’s 40 under 40 this year and maintains a regular presence on stage on the conference circuit throughout the U.S. and internationally.
“Joy is that rare executive in media who seems to really play the long game by listening deeply and developing meaningful partnerships with clients versus simply trying to sell them something. We appreciate that approach from her and from Quartz at HPE,” said Marissa Freeman, Chief Brand Officer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Under Robins’ leadership Quartz has executed 543 custom content campaigns with 150 premium global brands. She led the commercial success of new product launches, including Quartz Index, Quartz’s email products, and the Quartz app. Hundreds of blue-chip brands today choose Quartz as a prime vehicle for their marketing messages.
Robins’ promotion is effective immediately, and she will report to Lauf from Quartz’s New York City headquarters.
