Time Inc.’s PeopleTV expands to stream select real-time video programming on Twitter

NEW YORK, NY — November 6, 2017 — Time Inc.’s PeopleTV, the company’s ad-supported OTT network announced today that it will expand its live content and distribution. The next generation global entertainment network, PeopleTV, will begin streaming select real-time programming on Twitter starting November 20, providing a unique live and social experience for entertainment enthusiasts. Viewers across the globe will have expanded access to PeopleTV content on Twitter enabling highly engaged fans to connect and react in real-time to live programming.

PeopleTV on Twitter will begin with its award winning live daily show “PEOPLE NOW.” Additional content from PeopleTV on Twitter will eventually also include live breaking news, high-profile one-on-one celebrity interviews and marquee live events and specials spanning entertainment and lifestyle and leveraging the company’s premier franchises.

The live streams will be available via @PeopleTV globally on Twitter and connected devices. Each stream will be accompanied by a Twitter timeline, featuring the related real-time conversation. The programming will also include opportunities for advertisers to sponsor and promote across both platforms. Since launching in 2016, PeopleTV has garnered more than two million downloads. Additionally, thus far in 2017, there have been 100 million views of PeopleTV content across all platforms. PeopleTV content on Twitter is the latest collaboration between Twitter and Time Inc. and builds on Time Inc.’s rapid digital video growth which recently reached a record of 1 billion video starts each month.
