Talking Points Memo announces three new hires
Sam Thielman is the digital news organization’s first hire for its new investigative desk, coming over from The Guardian
The digital news site Talking Points Memo today announced three new hires, including the site’s first hire for its new Investigations Desk.
Sam Thielman is the first to be hired as an investigative reporter to work on the new investigative desk, coming over from The Guardian where he was working as a reporter in NYC. Prior to joining The Guardian, Thielman was a staff writer at Adweek. Thielman received is BA in English from Samford University, and later an MFA in Dramaturgy from Columbia (I had to look up exactly what dramaturgy is, it’s the study of dramatic composition).
Nicole Lafond is returning to TPM, where she once interned, to be a newswriter in the New York office (she also interned at The Daily Caller). Most recently she was Education Reporter at The News Gazette in Champaign, Illinois, so it look like she will be back in the big city.
Summer Concepcion will become TPM’s new front page editor. Summer was most recently Freelance Researcher at The Nation Institute’s Investigative Fund, and before that was an editorial assistant at Fusion.
