Alex Clearfield joins National Journal as staff correspondent
Clearfield joins the Atlantic Media brand from CQ Roll Call, where in his last position he put together CQ’s congressional member profiles
The Atlantic Media brand National Journal today announced that Alex Clearfield has joined the newsroom as staff correspondent.
Clearfield graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Political Science in 2013, then interned with the League of Women Voters, then with New Partners as a communications intern. He joined CQ Roll Call in 2015 as a legislative researcher, later created congressional member profiles
Here is National Journal Managing Editor Ben Pershing’s note to staff:
We’re pleased to announce we’ve hired Alex Clearfield as a staff correspondent. Alex comes to us from CQ Roll Call, where he’s been a researcher and writer, primarily focused on putting together CQ’s congressional member profiles. When NJ Daily is in print, Alex will focus on assisting Jeff Dufour with Bull’s Eye, Smart Ideas, and Carousel. He will also pick up some of the load writing Hotline’s Wake-Up Call and contribute to our campaign coverage. Alex is originally from New Jersey and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. His first day here will be May 22.
