Condé Nast appoints Edward Enninful editor of British Vogue, succeeding longtime editor Alexandra Shulman
Enninful most recently was fashion and creative director at W Magazine, and will begin his new assignment on August 1
The magazine British Vogue has a new editor, Edward Enninful will succeed longtime editor Alexandra Shulman.
Enninful was born in Ghana and immigrated to London as a child. He began his publishing career assisting i-D founders Trish and Terry Jones, later worked for Italian Vogue, American Vogue and most recently W Magazine, where he has been fashion and creative director since 2011.
“Edward is an exceptionally talented stylist who will no doubt bring an exciting new creative aesthetic to the magazine,” Shulman said in the announcement. “Every Vogue editor arrives with their own range of talents and experience and Edward is very known, respected and liked within the fashion industry. I look forward to finding out his plans as soon as possible and working with him over the next few months of transition so that British Vogue continues to be the leading magazine in this market.”
