UK mag Gay Times has new owner as shareholder takes over and takes the title independent
The UK magazine Gay Times has a new owner as of Monday after its publisher Millivres Prowler Ltd, which had gone into bankruptcy. But from the ashes has arisen a new company, Gay Times Limited, controlled by the shareholder James Frost.
“Under my leadership, we will continue to work with global partners, advertisers, sponsors and businesses as champions of LGBT life and business. The impressive global reach of Gay Times proves there’s still a place for LGBT media in the world.”
With the announcement comes word that the magazine will revert to its original title from GT, which the magazine had adopted in 2008.
“In a year during which we celebrate 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality in England and Wales, it’s more important than ever to see the LGBT community standing on its own two feet and claiming its place in the world,” said Frost. “With the current global political climate, we feel compelled to stand up and stand out with pride. As such, we’ve decided to reclaim our original name: Gay Times.”
