Time Inc.’s president of sales and marketing, Mark Ellis, joins Valassis as chief revenue officer

Before joining Time Inc. in August of 2014 as SVP Corporate Sales, Ellis was with Yahoo as VP, North American Sales, and before that was with AOL

LIVONIA, Mich. – March 20, 2017 — Valassis, a leader in intelligent media delivery, has appointed Mark Ellis as chief revenue officer. In this role, Ellis will maximize revenue across the company’s print and digital media portfolio while identifying new opportunities for growth as well as driving customer value.

He possesses more than 25 years of industry experience, robust client and agency relationships as well as creating revenue-generating strategies. As CRO, Ellis is focused on delivering accelerated growth through product innovation, category expansion and improved sales effectiveness.

With sales, marketing and digital experience at high profile companies, Ellis will strengthen the company’s ability to leverage the breadth of its expansive, omni-channel product portfolio. His industry prowess includes providing brand-building and data-driven solutions via integrated campaigns along with developing and implementing new ad formats, products and technology.

Ellis has held senior leadership positions at Time Inc., Yahoo! Inc. and AOL Inc. Most recently, he was president and chief operating officer, Sales and Marketing, at Time Inc., leading its U.S. advertising sales teams including category, brand and digital. He was responsible for digital and sales strategy and successfully drove digital revenue growth at Yahoo! as vice president of North American Sales and Global Partnerships. As executive vice president, North American Sales, at AOL Inc. Ellis led the sales, agency and account management teams, delivering revenue growth and sales innovation.

A Detroit native, Ellis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Detroit.
