NEW YORK, NY – October 12, 2016 —Essence.com, the number one digital destination for Black women, relaunched its website with a bold new design, it was announced today.
“The new Essence.com is the place where “Black Girl Magic” comes to life,” said Yolanda Sangweni, Site Content Director.
“The responsive and clean design is a visual celebration of what it means to be a Black woman now. The site is uniquely designed to give Black women the information they long for—everything from celebrity hot topics, topical news, beauty and style tips to #BlackLove goals.”
Essence.com has had great momentum and a successful year of growth, including: increased monthly unique visitors up +95%; page views +31%; and social referrals +194%.
According to MagazineMedia360.com (August), Essence’s overall brand audience totals more 12.1 million—+26% versus the same period last year—and its social audience reaches more than 4 million across platforms. In addition to a responsive mobile design and an aggressive rededication to the news and issues that matter most to Black women, other site highlights include:
