Twitter live stream of select NFL games on Time Inc.’s SI.com and Time.com sites
Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated and Time are First Syndication Partners for Twitter’s Live Video Experience of 2016 NFL Thursday Night Football Slate of Games
NEW YORK, NY, September 15, 2016 — For the first time ever, sports fans can watch the Twitter live stream of select NFL games on Time Inc.’s SI.com and Time.com sites. In a new syndication partnership announced today between Time Inc. and Twitter, this season’s ten NFL Thursday Night Football games scheduled to stream via Twitter’s live video experience will be available on SI.com and sister site, Time.com. Distribution will soon expand to other Time Inc. propertiesFanSided.com and TheMMQB.com. The video experience on the Time Inc. sites will also embed the live Twitter timeline of related tweets during the game.
The new partnership is the byproduct of a deal announced earlier this year between Twitter and the National Football League to stream a selection of ten Thursday night games, which is another pivotal moment in the sports landscape. This is the latest move from Time Inc. to offer more and more diversified multimedia and live video content in more places. Earlier this week Time Inc. launched the groundbreaking free streaming People/Entertainment Weekly Network, and today’s news comes on the heels of a new deal between Sports Illustrated and Fox Sports that will bring even more video to SI’s digital platforms.
