Allan Beaufour named Senior VP, Engineering at NYT, responsible for APIs, content management
Beaufour was previously Head of Engineering at Sum, and before that CTO at Chartbeat
New York, NY – May 16, 2016 – The New York Times Company announced today that Allan Beaufour has been named senior vice president, engineering. Mr. Beaufour was previously head of engineering at Sum, a healthcare startup. He joined The Times as a consultant February 2016. He has overall responsibility for APIs, content management, as well as data infrastructure across the company. He reports to chief technology officer, Nick Rockwell.
In making the announcement, Mr. Rockwell said, “I am thrilled to welcome Allan on staff. Allan is a great technologist and he will bring a fresh perspective to our organization. I’m excited to have someone with his ambition, experience and creativity in such a key role.”
Prior to Sum, Mr. Beaufour was chief technology officer at Chartbeat, where he helped make the service a dominant player in the analytics space for publishers.
Mr. Beaufour has a background in helping startups create data-driven products and building the engineering organization to launch and sustain those products.
He received a Master of Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen in 2003. He lives in New York City.
