Hearst Magazines announced formation of Hearst Autos
Nick Matarazzo, formerly CEO of Jumpstart Automotive Group, has been named president of the new group
NEW YORK, NY – May 12, 2016 – Hearst Magazines today announced the formation of Hearst Autos, bringing together the company’s industry-leading automotive media businesses into one dedicated, full-service division. Hearst Autos is composed of consumer brands Car and Driver and Road & Track, business-to-business digital media solutions company Jumpstart Automotive Group, and Veretech Holdings, Inc., previously part of Hearst Business Media. Nick Matarazzo, formerly CEO of Jumpstart Automotive Group, has been named president of Hearst Autos. The announcement was made by Hearst President and CEO Steven R. Swartz and Hearst Magazines President David Carey, to whom Matarazzo will continue to report.
With synergistic brands that address the key B2B and B2C audiences of automotive manufacturers, dealers and car buyers, Hearst Autos will provide engaging content, powerful data, consumer insights and comprehensive marketing solutions, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Ann Arbor, Mich., Atlanta, Ga., and Boca Raton, Fla. Hearst Autos will be a priority investment for Hearst in the coming year, with editorial staff added in Ann Arbor, engineering talent in Atlanta, and other organic investment in the core product.

Matarazzo has been CEO of Jumpstart Automotive Group since March 2010, refining the company’s mission and strategy and driving five straight years of record-breaking revenue growth. Previously, Matarazzo rose through the sales and marketing organization of Hachette Filipacchi U.S. (HFM U.S.), to become executive vice president, group publishing director of the Men’s Enthusiast Network, responsible for sales, marketing and content strategies for eight brands, which he evolved into multi-media platforms. From 1999 to 2003, Matarazzo was senior vice president, group publishing director, corporate sales and marketing; from 1991 to 1999, he was senior vice president of corporate sales. Matarazzo began his sales and marketing career at CBS Magazines and Diamandis Communications. He was inducted into the MIN Sales Hall of Fame 2006 and is a graduate of Montclair State University, with a bachelor’s in business.
