Report: Apple next event likely the week of March 21

The tech site Re/code said late last week that Apple will likely hold its next event during the week of March 21. The article, written by editor Kara Swisher, did mention a source, which is another way of saying she heard the news straight from Apple which likely wanted to dispel the notion that the event would be held on March 15. (A subsequent report by John Paczkowski of BuzzFeed San Francisco, says it will be Monday, March 21.)

That’s a good move as March 15 is a bad day to hold an event as there will be five primaries and one caucus held on that day. Illinois and Ohio hold their primaries that day so there is a good chance nothing Apple might introduce would get much media play outside the tech press.

The following week still has four primaries, but by then it is likely that both the Republican and Democratic nominations will be wrapped up (unless there are major upsets on Super Tuesday).

The focus of the next Apple event is said to be the introduction of a smaller iPhone, a new iPad Air (or it could be called a 9.7″ iPad Pro), and some Apple Watch bling.
