Condé Nast adds to their digital strategy and initiatives team

Brooke Ellis has been appointed executive director, digital design and UX, while Stephanie Fried as been named senior vice president of research and analytics

NEW YORK, NY – February 22, 2016 – Condé Nast today announced the expansion of its digital strategy and initiatives executive team with the appointments of Brooke Ellis and Stephanie Fried, and the promotion of Matthew Starker. The announcements were made by Fred Santarpia, executive vice president and chief digital officer, Condé Nast.

“Condé Nast is making incredible progress among audiences, content delivery and distribution in digital media,” said Santarpia. “Brooke, Stephanie and Matt are each tremendously talented and will work with our portfolio of premium brands to advance our mission to bring the world’s best content to audiences, in the most compelling ways, across all platforms.”

Ellis has been appointed executive director, digital design and UX, overseeing all digital product design for the company, providing end-to-end strategies and creating compelling user experiences across all content platforms. Previously, Ellis served as creative director of the highly-regarded global design and strategy firm frog, where she led strategy and innovation consulting for clients across a range of industries.

Before joining frog, Ellis worked as a creative lead for global medical device company BrainLAB. Prior to that she served as the art director for Chicago’s high-end retailer Jayson Home.

Fried has been named senior vice president of research and analytics, leading the company’s strategy for research, audience development and analytics across the portfolio. Fried, who acts as co-chair of the IAB Research Council, joins Condé Nast from Discovery Communications were she was vice president, digital insights and marketing, and oversaw all research and marketing functions across the digital organization.

Prior to Discovery Communications, Fried served as vice president, research insights and analytics at VEVO. She has also held senior positions at NBCUniversal and BuzzBack Market Research, an online consumer market research firm.

Additionally, Starker has been promoted to general manager, digital strategy and initiatives. In his expanded role, Starker is responsible for business development, partnership and content distribution management, corporate acquisitions and post-deal integrations, profit across Condé Nast’s digital products and revenue growth from social media platforms. Previously, Starker served as vice president, digital strategy and initiatives and was instrumental in the company’s acquisition and integration of Pitchfork.

Starker was previously director of business development at Condé Nast Entertainment (CNÉ), where he was responsible for strategic partnerships and the distribution of CNÉ original content, as well as spearheading the growth strategy for CNÉ’s digital channels. He has also held positions at VEVO and AIG.
