Editor-in-chief Michelle Lee names new editorial leadership team at Condé Nast’s Allure
Renee Rupcich, previously of Nylon, named design director – while Amanda Weigher, previously at Teen Vogue, appointed managing editor
NEW YORK, NY — January 11, 2016 –– Michelle Lee, editor-in-chief of Allure, today appointed a new leadership team for the brand. Renee Rupcich, previously of Nylon, domino and Men’s Vogue, has been named design director. Amanda Meigher, who most recently served as managing editor at Teen Vogue, has been appointed managing editor. Rachael Wang, a highly-regarded fashion stylist who has held positions at Glamour and Style.com, has joined as fashion director, and Jeremy Allen, who has held positions at Bloomberg, GQ and Vogue, has been named senior photo editor. All of the appointments take effect immediately.
“Beauty is an aspect of life in which the Allure audience not only participates, but revels in, in a big way,” said Lee. “Our new team is passionate about making our content—whether on print, digital or video—more than simply instructional, but approachable, enjoyable and empowering for our audience.”
In November, Allure saw a 39% increase in unique visitors compared to a year ago. In addition, audiences spent more time on the site with an improvement of 71% year-over-year in total minutes. Mobile traffic also grew by 66% year-over-year. (comScore November 2015)
