Metro Corp. announces staff changes at Philadelphia mag
Tom McGrath, editor of Philadelphia magazine, has been promoted to Chief Content and Strategy Officer, while Patrick Kerkstra has been promoted to editor
The publisher of Philadelphia and Boston magazines, Metro Corp., said today that a restructuring of the company would include three layoffs, as well as some staff realignment.
Tom McGrath, currently the editor of Philadelphia, has been promoted to Chief Content and Strategy Officer, while Patrick Kerkstra has been promoted to editor of Philadelphia.
The company also said that seven full-time positions were being eliminated from the company, three in the company’s Philadelphia office. The publisher entered the year with 134 full-time staff positions.
“It’s always painful to eliminate positions. We thank those impacted for their hard work on behalf of Metro Corp.” David Lipson, chairman and CEO of Metro Corp., said in an announcement on Philadelphia magazine’s website.
“As the world evolves, it is essential that we evolve with it. I strongly believe the changes we’re making will allow us to thrive going forward.”
