Christina Scott to leave the Financial Times to become Chief Technology Officer at News UK
News UK has lured Christina Scott from the Financial Times to be Chief Technology Officer starting next year. Scott joined the FT in 2012 as Chief Product and Information Officer at the Fiancnail Times, and before that was General Manager – Future Media and Technology at the BBC.
“We look forward to welcoming her to The News Building where I’ve no doubt she will be a key player in our mission to renew the way we do business and harness the vast potential of the digital world to ensure sustainable success for our journalism,” News UK CEO Rebekah Brooks said.
“Over the past 20 years she has also worked in technology at the BBC, ITV Digital and Accenture during a career of great distinction,” News UK said in its announcement of the hire.
“Christina was ranked third in the CIO 100 last year – an annual list recognising the most transformative CIOs in the UK business economy. She topped the media, leisure and entertainment category and was the only woman to be ranked in the top 20.”
