Gunn previously worked on the launch of Red Online, and was appointed editor of goodtoknow in 2011

London, England – November 18, 2015 — NME today announces the appointment of Charlotte Gunn to the role of digital editor. Charlotte will be delivering NME’s digital growth strategy across mobile, desktop, social and native apps. Working closely with editor-in-chief Mike Williams, Charlotte will also play a key role in the development of digital brand extensions and new product launches.

Charlotte is an experienced digital strategist and editor, with over nine years’ experience working in digital publishing. During this time, Charlotte has worked on the launches of Red Online and goodtoknow. Charlotte took the helm of goodtoknow as editor in 2011 and under her direction, the brand became the UK’s number one women’s lifestyle site with yearly traffic growth increasing by 150%. Charlotte is currently audience development manager for Time Inc. UK’s lifestyle brands, specialising in search, social and CRM growth strategies.

Mike Williams, editor-in-chief of NME, says: “I’m delighted to announce Charlotte Gunn as the new digital editor of NME. Charlotte’s track record is very impressive, having driven massive growth and masterminded key new product launches in her previous roles. Coupled with her deep understanding of the NME brand – both its rich history and exciting future – her credentials become all the more impressive.

“This is an absolutely key appointment for NME and reinforces our commitment to the digital-first strategy that we outlined in July. I can’t wait to start working with her.”

Charlotte adds: “I’m thrilled to be joining NME at such a momentous time in its legendary history. This is the brand that got me into music so to now be tasked with helping Mike and the team drive its digital growth is an absolute honour. 2015 has been a transformative year for NME and it doesn’t stop here. We’ve got aspirations to be the biggest and best multi-channel millennial brand in the world, and I’m excited about being part of the team that gets us there.”

Charlotte takes up her new role on 23 November and replaces Greg Cochrane.
