Aquafadas updates Viewer app; rundown of other digital publishing preview apps

Six other digital publishing platforms have also updated their previewer apps – apps used to preview new digital editions, or to proof existing ones

The digital publishing platform Aquafadas today updated its Aquafadas Viewer app. The app is used to view content that has been created in the company’s AVE format.

The update brings the app up to version 4.0 – round numbers usually meaning its an important update. This one has both new features, as well as the usual bug fixes. Most importantly, it is the first update since the launch of iOS 9 (and Apple today just released another update for iOS 9).

What’s New in Version 4.0

  • The debug top bar displays a TOC button if it’s available in the Zave
  • Better security on drag’n drop if the enrichment was badly edited
  • Bookmarks/notes handled on PDF+Mag Zaves

  • Bug on tap in PDFReader for iPhone 6s
  • Slideshow in popup uses properly the ken burns effect on the first slide
  • Crash fixed on PDFReader matrix view in iOS 9
  • Bug fix for rotation in PDFReader in iOS 9
  • Bug fix for clipping on PDF enrichments
  • Read aloud crash fixed on iOS 9

In case you are using another platform, here is a rundown of the other preview apps, what version they are on, and the last update was issued (only iOS apps):
