B2B-focused PR firm Greentarget Global Group appoints Brandon Copple as Director of Content & Editorial Strategy
A veteran reporter and editor of more than 15 years, Copple was a staff writer at Forbes, the managing editor of Crain’s Chicago Business
CHICAGO, Ill. – October 14, 2015 — Greentarget Global Group LLC, a strategic, B2B-focused public relations firm with offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, London and San Francisco, has appointed Brandon Copple Director of Content and Editorial Strategy to lead its growing Content & Publishing practice.
A veteran reporter and editor of more than 15 years, Copple was a staff writer at Forbes, the managing editor of Crain’s Chicago Business and editor of Grid, a business magazine published by the Chicago Sun-Times. He also built the content team at Groupon, managing more than 200 writers, editors and designers.
“We believe professional services firms in particular have yet to fully grasp and realize that they have a tremendous opportunity to act like media companies by approaching their content as a journalistic service to their audiences,” said John Corey, President and Founding Partner of Greentarget. “Professional- and financial-services companies face unique challenges when it comes to producing engaging content for their stakeholders, not to mention a responsibility to contribute to a smarter conversation. Brandon’s editorial talents and vast business-journalism experience make him an excellent fit to lead our burgeoning Content practice.”
Before joining Greentarget, Copple was Managing Editor at FitchInk, a premium content provider, where he developed and produced strategic editorial content for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to boutique financial and investment firms. For the previous two years, FitchInk had served as Greentarget’s content partner; that relationship will remain a key part of Greentarget’s proprietary offering.
A Corporate Journalism Approach to Storytelling
At Greentarget, Copple will develop and implement communications campaigns built around corporate journalism, a service Greentarget defines as combining an organization’s market intelligence and subject-matter expertise with the credibility and narrative techniques of traditional journalism. Copple’s arrival will help Greentarget expand its existing corporate-journalism work by bringing an editorial mindset to the sophisticated communications programs the firm is known for.
Working with the firm’s existing team, plus a broad network of accomplished journalists, Copple will create content campaigns showcasing the insights and expertise that are so vital to the success of Greentarget’s professional-services clients.
“The folks at Greentarget understand that in order to rise above all the noise, you have to create content that is actually valuable and accessible to the audience you’re trying to reach,” Copple said. “All roads lead to storytelling, Greentarget gets that — and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of their team.”
Greentarget’s Expanding Content & Research Offerings
Copple’s arrival comes on the heels of the appointment of Kevin Iredell as Greentarget’s Director of Research. The pair avails Greentarget clients of new opportunities to generate original business intelligence and to present and publish it in ways that will resonate with their key audiences. Working alongside Greentarget’s seasoned public-relations team, the combined offering aims to help clients hit the sweet spot where original research and content help brandish their expertise and credibility, with core audiences and earned media alike.
