Meredith combines brands to create Meredith Weddings Group
The new group will comprise its recently acquired Martha Stewart Weddings magazine and website with mywedding.com
The Des Moines headquartered publisher Meredith Corporation today announced that it has launched Meredith Weddings Group, a new division comprised of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, marthastewartweddings.com, and mywedding.com. Meredith picked up the Martha Stewart publishing brands in a 10 year license deal last October. Meredith then acquired mywedding.com, one of the top five wedding websites in the U.S., in November.
“We believe we can further grow mywedding.com’s consumer audience, while at the same time developing the next generation of consumers for Meredith brands and creating new sales and marketing opportunities for our clients,” said Meredith National Media Group President Tom Harty last year.
“This is the perfect marriage of two powerful brands targeting a desirable Millennial consumer audience,” said Patti Follo, VP/Publisher of Martha Stewart Weddings, in today’s launch announcement. “We operate under the motto that we’re better together – combining the brand power and expertise of Martha Stewart Weddings, which for 20 years has been providing brides with unique ideas and inspiration – with extensive cutting-edge wedding planning tools and local resources from mywedding.com. The result is one of the most comprehensive and wide-reaching platforms in the wedding media space.”
Martha Stewart Wedding, along with Martha Stewart Living, were added this year to the Next Issue digital newsstand.
