Amazon to advertisers: No more Flash
The death of Flash continues as online retailer Amazon changed its ad guidelines, banning Flash ads from its website.
The problem, of course, is that every browser maker is turning off Flash by default. Beyond the security issues, there is also the issue of load times.
Unfortunately, the possibility of increased use of ad blockers could effect non-Flash ads soon, leaving publishers looking for alternative ad models. This could, as I suggest here, actually provide publishers with some opportunities, as well.
