Patrick Connors named publisher at Time Inc.’s InStyle
Connors was previously VP, Publisher at American Media’s Men’s Fitness, and before that was Associate Publisher on Details
Time Inc. today announced that Patrick Connors will take over as publisher of InStyle. Connors was previous VP, Publisher at American Media’s Men’s Fitness.
Connors joined Condé Nast in 2006 where he worked as Beauty Director, then National Advertising Director on Glamour before being named Associate Publisher of Details magazine.
“Patrick is accomplished, driven and passionate and will be an incredible partner to (Editorial Director) Ariel Foxman, as they capitalize on our recent digital success and brand expansion at InStyle,” said Evelyn Webster, executive vice president at Time Inc. “He has a proven track record of delivering advertising solutions across fashion, beauty, retail, automotive and lifestyle, making him the ideal fit for the brand.”
Connors starts at Time Inc. on August 26.
“I would like to thank Steven DeLuca, SVP, Publisher of Departures for serving as the interim Publisher of InStyle these past four months,” Webster said. “He has done an excellent job, and I am grateful to him for stepping in during this period.”
Connors will look to bring some stability and sales power to the title that has had a bit of turnover in the publisher’s office. Connie Anne Phillips, who served as publisher for four years, left in 2013, shortly before the Time Warner spin-off. Phillips was replaced by Karin Tracy who stayed one year and is now at Facebook. Nina Lawrence then arrived as publisher from The Wall Street Journal, but was let go after only six months. Lawrence had served as VP, Publisher at W with Condé Nast before her stay at the WSJ.
