Theresa Horner joins Scribd as Vice President of Strategy and New Content Verticals
The eBook subscription service Scribd announced the hiring of Theresa Horner as Vice President of Strategy and New Content Verticals. Horner previously served as VP of Digital Content at Barnes & Noble, where she worked on the Nook e-reader.
“It’s still early days for digital publishing,” Horner said in a Q&A on the Scribd blog. “To date, digital books are essentially replicas of print books. I think there is a lot of room for experimentation as content creation tools improve, and as we work through how to incorporate social, geo-location, and data-driven experiences into storytelling.
Horner spent seven years at HarperCollins beginning in 2000 where she was Senior Director of Operations and Business Development.
