Media app updates: the British Journal of Photography get an interface update
The Newsstand app, built using the Mag+ digital publishing platform, remains unique in that it boasts a monthly iPad edition, as well as a weekly iPhone edition
There will be no new media app updates released today one assumes as the major platform owners have their staffs off for the July 4th Independence Day holiday. As the holiday falls on Saturday, most offices are closed on Friday.
One update that was released very late yesterday is for the British Journal of Photography. Their iOS app has changed names a few times over the years, due to Apple’s odd requirement that apps from the same company can not have the same name. The app is now called British Journal of Photography – the best in contemporary photography, since 1854 – quite a mouthful.
The new update brings the app up to version 2.0.2 and simply lists “numerous user interface improvement.” Its the first update for the app since October of last year when two updates likely dealt with iOS 8’s introduction.
The app is unique in that it features a monthly iPad edition and a weekly iPhone edition – so it is that one app where having both devices is a definite advantage. The app uses the Mag+ digital publishing platform.
Version 1.0 of this app goes back to April of 2013 when the magazine was spun out of its previous publishing company to the publishing start-up Apptitude Media.
