TNM applies for Mission Main St. grant

TNM has never conducted a fund raising drive as this, like most B2B media outlets, should really survive based on the support of the businesses in the digital publishing industry itself – that is, advertisers.

But TNM Digital Media LLC, the parent publishing company of Talking New Media, has completed a grant application and is asking for your help.

Mission Main Street grants is a Chase bank-backed grant program that is designed to support local business start-ups. As part of the decision process, MMS is requiring the applicants receive 250 votes. I don’t think there is a chance in hell of TNMDM getting that many in the short time offered – and besides, it’s a stupid criteria for backing a new business.

But I thought I’d let TNM readers know of the grant program. If one is awarded to us, TNMDM would use the grant ($100K, by the way) to fund new digital publishing efforts including new eBooks, possible a digital magazine, and most importantly, the funds would allow for paying contributors (journalists should get paid, don’t you think).

So here is the link you need to follow: TNM Digital Media grant link. Any votes would be appreciated, and it costs you nothing other than having to sign in via Facebook.

Thank you for your consideration.
