Jason Taylor bolts Gannett to take Publisher post at the Las Vegas Review-Journal

Taylor was named publisher by Gannett of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, MS last July, moving over from the Chattanooga Times Free Press were he was president

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – June 11, 2015 — GateHouse Media LLC announced today that Jason Taylor has been named President and Publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and President of the Company’s Western U.S. Publishing Operations. Additionally, Taylor will become President of GateHouse Media Live and Virtual Events, a new division focused on developing high profile, locally hosted and sponsored events. Taylor’s appointment is effective July 6, 2015.

Taylor brings significant executive level experience. Most recently, he has served as U.S. Community Publishing East Group Regional President for Gannett Newspapers and President and Publisher of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, MS. He previously served as President of the ChattanoogaTimes Free Press for 7 years. Prior to joining Chattanooga, Jason was the SVP of Sales and Marketing for The Honolulu Advertiser, the state’s largest newspaper.

Among Taylor’s many accomplishments, in Chattanooga, he led the Times Free Press to be among the top 10 newspapers in the U.S. in year over year circulation performance as measured by the Alliance for Audited Media, every year between 2008 and 2012. The newspapers Taylor has led have received industry recognition with over 300 advertising awards and over 200 editorial awards, including Pulitzer finalists.
