Chase adds Touch ID log-in with update to their iPhone app

Touch ID has finally come to the Chase Mobile banking app as the company has updated its iPhone app this weekend.

Chase-iPhone-TouchIDTyping on any mobile device can be a bit of a pain, especially for older customers who are not used to messaging. So many will find this update particularly important.

Just how popular is the mobile app from Chase? This update was released this weekend and there are already around 4,700 ratings submitted for this new version of the app – the vast majority of them 5-star. That’s pretty amazing. (They did it, or course, by adding a “rate the app” prompt when the app is closed out.)

Here is the app description for the update:

  • Users with Touch ID-capable devices can use Touch ID to log in.

Note: Touch ID needs to be enabled on your phone before you can activate it within the Chase Mobile app. Touch ID options will not display in the app unless you have set a passcode for your phone. For your security, certain features will still require that you enter your password.
