Gazelle Emami named senior editor at Vulture.com
Lauretta Charlton and Dee Lockett have also joined the entertainment and culture news site as associate editors
New York, NY – February 18, 2015 — Vulture.com and New York magazine culture editor Lane Brown announced today that Gazelle Emami has joined Vulture as a senior editor, while Lauretta Charlton and Dee Lockett have joined as associate editors. Emami will oversee Vulture’s television coverage, with Charlton writing daily on music and Lockett on general entertainment news.
Emami (@gazellephant) joins from The Huffington Post, where she served as deputy features editor, and, prior to that, culture editor. She received her BA from the University of California at Berkeley and her first day was February 2.
Charlton (@laurettaland) was previously an associate editor at Complex Magazine and has written for Billboard, Stereogum, The Awl (under the pen name “Charlie”), BET, and The Wall Street Journal. She graduated from the University of San Francisco and starts at Vulture February 23.
Lockett (@Dee_Lockett) was previously an editorial assistant at Slate’s culture department and wrote for one of Complex Media’s owned-and-operated music sites, Pigeons & Planes. She received her master’s degree at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and her BA at Syracuse as well. Her first day was February 9.
