Press Release:

McLean, Va. – February 12, 2015 — USA TODAY announces partnership deals with several non-Gannett news organizations to include the USA TODAY Local Edition as part of their print and digital offering to readers. Among the outside media groups adopting USA TODAY’s innovative network affiliate model is Schurz Communications, which will begin including the Local Edition in daily newspapers across seven states. Additionally, the Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch is now including USA TODAY’s Sunday Life Section. The Record in Bergen County, NJ is launching USA TODAY’s new Sunday Personal Finance section. And, the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, IL now offers both the USA TODAY Sunday Life Section and the Sunday Personal Finance section.

Record-front-featureOver the last year, USA TODAY has included its Local Edition inside the print and e-Editions of 35 local Gannett daily publications across the country. This has not only provided consumers with additional national coverage, but also enabled local editorial teams to focus on providing more of their own unique, high-quality local news and information. The added USA TODAY edition includes national News, Money and Life content seven days a week, and USA TODAY’s renowned Sports coverage, which has been integrated into local sports sections. In recent weeks, USA TODAY has added additional weekend products, including the Sunday Life feature section and a weekend Personal Finance section. “Our innovative content model continues to prove itself in providing stronger, higher-value local products to consumers while continuing to grow the reach of USA TODAY,” said Larry Kramer, USA TODAY publisher. “More local readers are getting the best of USA TODAY’s unique brand of journalism and advertisers get a much broader reach. We have had such positive feedback, we are looking forward to growing our expanded affiliate model even more in 2015.”
