Oyster reaches 1 million book level with addition of latest partner Macmillan
The eBook subscription service Oyster today announced that it has added a new book publishing partner, Macmillan. The New York-based company, founded in 2012, also said that the service now has over 1 million titles to offer readers.
“Over the past several months, the number of publishers we work with has grown dramatically,” the company said on its blog. “That means even more great books are being added to our library every day from great publishers. Some of our favorite recent additions include Candlewick, New York Review Books Classics, Capstone, Soho Press, Bloomsbury, and many others.”
In 2013 the company launched its first service, charging $9.99 per month for unlimited reading. It has steadily added publishers since then. In October of 2013 it added iPad support, and last year launched Android, Kindle Fire and NOOK HD support.
