The Texas Tribune announced it had hired its first ever Washington D.C. bureau chief: Abby Livingston. Livingston will start at the nonprofit media organization in mid-December.
Livingston joins The Texas Tribune after three years covering political campaigns, House leadership and the Congress for Roll Call. Before that, Livingston pitched and produced political segments for CNN’s “John King USA” and worked as a TV editor for The Hotline, National Journal’s campaign tipsheet.
Livingston is a native of Fort Worth and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
The creation of the D.C. bureau was made possible by a $350,000 grant from the Hewlett Foundation.
