Barnes & Noble ‘Sync-Up!’ program brings print and digital books together for holiday season

Book buyers can purchase one or more paperbacks, then buy the digital book for $4.99 – then share with friends and family

The bookseller Barnes & Noble today introduced a holiday promotion that brings print and eBooks together for holiday shoppers. B&N Sync Up! allows book buyers to purchase one or more paperback editions from a curated selection of titles at any of the Barnes & Noble 650 store locations, then purchase the same title as a NOOK Book digital edition for $4.99.

SyncUp_SplashPage-600The real value of the program is that the buyer can either enjoy both copies, or they can gift them to their friends or family.

Some of the titles included in the program are Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, Outlander (Outlander Series #1) by Diana Gabaldon, The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and Life of Pi by Yann Martel.

“This innovative new program brings together physical and digital books in a way that only Barnes & Noble can, providing our customers with a great new option to browse and shop both formats in our stores across the country,” said Jaime Carey, Chief Merchandising Officer at B&N. “We are committed to helping our customers discover great reads in all formats, and we believe they will appreciate the value, convenience and gift-giving opportunities our B&N Sync Up! program provides as we head into the busy holiday shopping season.”

Buyers can access the digital editions by redeeming a code and downloading the digital edition, either using the NOOK Reading App for Apple’s iOS devices, through Google Play or the Windows Store.
