Dennis Publishing launches new UK print magazine, Bikes Etc
The UK magazine publisher of Cyclist magazine, Dennis Publishing, said it would launch another magazine title into the space. Bikes Etc will premiere with a 132-page issue and will go on sale on October 29.
“After the incredible success of Cyclist we realised there was still a gap in the market for a good looking magazine that catered to readers that are serious about their sport, and looking for an authoritative voice to help them to get their purchasing decisions right first time. With our combined expertise we can provide that,” said editor Wes Doyle.
The new title will be aimed at the road cycling market, with the magazine’s editorial focused on reviewing the latest bikes, and features that offer advice on performance and maintenance.
“A passion for bikes and kit is fundamentally at the heart of the UK’s cycling boom, and road cyclists are in a perpetual state of purchasing and dreaming about what they might buy next to improve their rides,” the new magazine’s publisher, Nicola Bates, said in the launch announcement. “Bikes Etc gives us an opportunity to tap into a market that is thriving at the moment. Our ambition is to quickly establish Bikes Etc in the hearts and minds of our customers as their go-to brand for reviews.”
Dennis Publishing generally only produces replica editions for digital devices. But its app for Cyclist is an exception, giving one hope that any digital editions for the new title will be treated equally seriously.
