Apple says it sold over 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus models since launch
Sales top the 9 million units sold over the first three days last year, and the 5 million units sold in the first three days in 2012
The launch of the new, larger iPhones models appears to be going quite well for Apple as the company announced first thing this morning that it has sold over 10 million units since its launch on September 19.
“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
Last year the company also sent out a press release on the Monday after the launch of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to say that it has sold 9 million units in the first three days of sales. In 2012, Apple sold over 5 million units
