Much anticipated Apple iPhone event becomes epic fail for consumers trying to tune in

While Apple CEO Tim Cook to the stage today in San Francisco, thousands of consumers attempted to watch the proceedings live via their computers or mobile devices. What followed was as big a promotional disaster as anything Apple has seen since the roll out of MobileMe.

AppleScreenWhile tech reporters like David Pogue dropped any sense of journalistic integrity by fawning their loyalty, consumers were treated to stuttering video feeds, often with the voice of a Chinese translator speaking over the event.

The show went on, of course, and Apple launched two new models of the iPhone as well as its “one more thing”.

But for consumers, they will have to read about online or in their newspapers as Apple’s big event got overshadowed by the company’s inability to stream video.
