AOL records 20% increase in ad revenue, net income flat
The advertising revenue at AOL increased 20.4 percent in Q2 of 2014, overcoming declines in subscription revenue to help maintain net income at $28.2 million.
The growth was recorded in what AOL calls AOL Platforms, third party platform revenue which includes revenue from our programmatic offerings including Adap.tv. Brand Group revenue fell 2 percent in quarter, while Membership Group revenue fell 5 percent. AOL said there are 9 percent fewer domestic AOL subscribers.
AOL has $136 million of cash on hand, while servicing $105 million in outstanding borrowing.
