Apartments.com president, Dick Burke, exiting company following sale to CoStar Group
The president of Apartments.com, Dick Burke, will be leaving the company, Crain’s Chicago Business reported (paywall). Burke’s exit comes after Classified Ventures sold the property to CoStar Group, a commercial real estate information company, based in Washington, DC.
Burke has been president of Apartments.com for just under two years. Burke joined Classified Ventures in the fall of 1998 as SVP Administration & Corporate Development, then moved over to be general manager of HomeGain, a residential resale website owned by Classified Ventures.
Burke’s back ground is in law, not classified advertising, however. He received his law degree from Georgetown University in 1990 and first went to work at the firm Skadden Arps in Chicago in that fall. He later worked at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella before moving to Classified Ventures.
