Nancy Novogrod to leave post as editor of Travel + Leisure after 21 years at the magazine
Travel + Leisure editor Nancy Novogrod has informed Time Inc. that she will be leaving her post as editor after 21 years at the magazine. Novogrod will be leaving “in the few months to pursue a new chapter,” Evelyn Webster, executive vice president at Time Inc. and Norman Pearlstine, chief content officer at Time Inc., announced.
“With enormous talent, unbridled passion and relentless energy, Nancy has done a brilliant job elevating the leading travel magazine into the most influential multiplatform travel brand,” Webster and Pearlstine announced to Time Inc. colleagues.
Novogrod will be traveling and will write a book, according to the company
Before joining Travel + Leisure in 1993, then published by American Express Publishing, Novogrod was editor-in-chief of House & Garden magazine. Before that, Novogrod was executive editor at Clarkson Potter, now a division of Random House.
Time Inc. acquired American Express Publishing in September of last year which, in addition to Travel + Leisure magazine, also included Food & Wine, Departures, Executive Travel and Black Ink.
