Is something up with iBooks Author? Apple updates the software a 2nd time in a week

The digital book publishing app iBooks Author(iBA) was updated again late last week, the second update to come to a program that, until now, has been largely ignored by Apple. The app description has the update “contains stability improvements and bug fixes” – though I users have not been complaining of bug problems with the app.

Nonetheless, it is interesting to read the most recent user reviews for the program. Users are complaining about the lack of Arabic and Japanese support, the lack of iPhone support, the lack of import support, etc. When released a year and a half ago one might expected the program to lack many features, but so little has been added to the program since its initial launch – the most important update coming over 600 days ago when Apple added custom embedded fonts.

But now there have been a couple updates for iBA, both coming after the release of betas for both OS X Yosemite and iOS 8. Is this just a coincidence, or are there major changes coming with the release of these two operating systems in the fall? (like iBA introducing an iPhone solution?)
