Former Rolling Stone publisher named Chief Revenue Officer, Playboy Media

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – June 3, 2014 – Playboy Enterprises, Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Scott Flanders announced today the appointment of two innovative executives from the digital content space to lead the company’s realignment of its digital portfolio.
Matthew Mastrangelo has been named Chief Revenue Officer, Playboy Media and will report to Playboy’s President of Media, David Israel. In this newly created role, Mr. Mastrangelo will lead a national team as they create innovative integrated advertising and sponsorship opportunities across Playboy’s print, digital media and event platforms.
Cory Jones has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President Digital Content, Digital Media and will report to Jimmy Jellinek, Playboy’s Chief Content Officer. In this newly created role, Mr. Jones will oversee content development and execution across a wide spectrum of Playboy’s digital properties including Playboy.com, Playmates.com, Miss Social and iPlayboy.

A publishing executive with more than two decades of experience, Mr. Mastrangelo comes to Playboy from Condé Nast’s title Self, where he was Associate Publisher. Prior to that he spent over a decade at Wenner Media where he served in a variety of capacities including Publisher of Rolling Stone magazine and rollingstone.com, Publisher of Men’s Journal and mensjournal.com, and Executive Director, Corporate Sales and Marketing of the magazine group including Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men’s Journal.
“Matt brings with him a wealth of experience and success across multiple print and digital titles,” said Playboy’s David Israel. “We will look for him to lead our sales force and closely collaborate with our creative and editorial teams as we continue to expand our digital media offerings, evolve the magazine and create one of a kind events for our partners.”

Cory Jones has spent over a decade as an editor and producer in the digital space, leading some of the world’s largest men’s lifestyle destinations, serving as Editorial Director of Maxim.com, Defy Media and most recently as Editor In Chief of the Whalerock/AOL men’s website Mandatory.com.
