Penton Media and McGraw-Hill Financial update B2B apps
Nation’s Restaurant News and Engineering News-Record get bug fix and interface updates
Several B2B magazine apps received updates today including apps from Penton Media and McGraw-Hill Financial.
Penton Media updated their universal news app for Nation’s Restaurant News. The update is simply for bug fixes.
The update follows other updates for other Penton apps such as for Supermarket News which introduced a new mobile version. All told, Penton has 42 apps for the iPad, all but two of which are stand-alone apps. Their two Newsstand apps are for Studio Live Design and MeetingsNet.
Compared to many B2Bs, Penton has been an early adopter of apps, though has not shown much enthusiasm so far for creating native tablet Newsstand editions of their trade magazines. Instead they have launched mobile news apps.
McGraw-Hill Financial has updated its app for Engineering News-Record. The app, called ENR Digital Edition, moves from version 1.0 to version 2.0.
In addition to fixing bugs, the update introduces a new user interface, probably associated with an update of the Mag+ digital publishing platform (which also changed its version naming system – the newest release is Mag+ 5, 2014-5).
