Retale creates animated map of Apple retail stores on 13th anniversary of first store opening
The digital shopping website Retale has created an animated map which shows the growth of the Apple retail store chain since its launch in 2001. Retale, from the company Bonial Enterprises North America, is the maker of the Retale – Weekly Ads & Deals app.
The map can be found on the company’s website here.
Apple opened its first retail store on May 19, 2001 in Tysons Corner Center, Virginia, outside Washington, DC. It currently has 254 stores in the U.S. in 44 states and the District of Columbia (Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia remain without a store location). Apple also has stores in 15 other countries, the newest on just opening last month in Istanbul, Turkey.
