Former publisher, Mike Porcaro, returns to B2B as Director of Marketing at SGC/SGC Horizon
Porcaro was formerly the publisher of Construction Equipment at Cahners Business Information, then president of James Informational Media
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois – Apr 23, 2014 — Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon welcomes Mike Porcaro as Director of Marketing. Porcaro will orchestrate and oversee promotion and marketing campaigns for the corporation, all of its media brands and events, its custom division, and its web development arm.
Porcaro has more than 30 years of experience in BtoB media across all channels and most recently was President and Publisher of James Media. From 1982 to 1996, Porcaro was Marketing Director and then Publisher of Construction Equipment, launching many iconic industry events, including Rebuilding America, the Construction Equipment Hall of Fame, and CE’s Top 100 New Product Awards — a first in the construction equipment industry. Construction Equipment was acquired by SGC/SGC Horizon in 2010.
Porcaro’s marketing talents and knowledge also are recognized in both the roads/bridges infrastructure and commercial building advertising communities from his prior communications experience, including his term as publisher of SGC Horizon’s Building Design+Construction magazine.
