Ginger Gibson named Vice President of Media Relations and Communications at SevenTwenty Strategies

WASHINGTON, DC – March 6, 2014 — SevenTwenty Strategies has hired Ginger Gibson as Vice President of Media Relations and Communications. The former POLITICO congressional reporter will strengthen SevenTwenty’s media relations bench and bolster strategic messaging and content for the firm and its Fortune 500 and trade association clients. Her deep knowledge of the Washington legislative and media landscape combined with her policy expertise will broaden SevenTwenty’s and its clients reach in Washington and markets nationwide.

Gibson spent years working on the frontlines of covering the biggest political news. She covered the 2012 presidential campaign for POLITICO, traveling with Newt Gingrich during the Republican primary and Mitt Romney during the general election. The trail took her from southern California to Vermont, visiting 40 states over the course of a year and detailing the nitty-gritty details of a presidential campaign. After surviving the campaign trail, Gibson worked as a congressional reporter at POLITICO, covering the fiscal cliff at the end of 2012 and the government shutdown of October 2013.
Prior to joining POLITICO, Gibson covered New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for The Star-Ledger in Newark, NJ. Gibson also worked at The News Journal in Wilmington, Del., covering the legislature, governor’s office and state politics.
