Paul Krugman to join of the faculty of the Graduate Center, City University of New York

The New York Times’s economics columnist Paul Krugman this morning used his blog to inform readers of his move to join the faculty of the Graduate Center, City University of New York, as a professor in the Ph.D. economics program. Krugman will be retiring from his post at Princeton, where he has been Professor of Economics and International Affairs since 2000.

Krugman also said he will become a distinguished scholar at the Graduate Center’s Luxembourg Income Study Center.

“None of this will have any effect on my work at the New York Times, so unless you’re just curious about the guy behind the column and blog, you needn’t read further,” Krugman wrote.

Krugman, who grew up in the NYC suburbs, now can be live in the city full time saying he “always imagined that “the city” was where intellectuals went to live once they, as my grandmother used to say, reached ‘mature adultery.’”
