Questex acquires Jazd Markets, a sourcing and lead-generation company
NEWTON, Mass. – February 25, 2014 — Questex, a leading global business information company, today announced that it has acquired the technology and substantially all the business assets of Jazd Markets, the global sourcing and lead-generation company. The acquisition of the Jazd Markets platform will enable Questex to integrate Jazd’s marketplace, lead-generation and directory features into web and mobile properties across its vertical market groups on its Questex and FierceMarkets-branded sites.
Questex will integrate existing Jazd marketplaces and its own industry-specific sites that currently reach 7 million business decision-makers. Each marketplace will continue to be uniquely identified and enhanced with relevant content produced by Questex’s award-winning editors and content specialists. Integration into industry-specific sites will lead to improved functionality for buyers, broader reach, more effective targeting and improved performance for suppliers who will be provided a range of horizontal, vertical, behavioral and other targeting options.
Kerry C. Gumas, President & CEO of Questex, said, “As a global business information company, we constantly search for innovative ways to bring buyers and sellers together to conduct business more effectively, regardless of platform. We believe that Jazd customers and ours will benefit greatly over time by our acquisition and expansion of the Jazd properties and the integration of their features and capabilities into Questex’s industry-specific news and information sites.”
He added, “This transaction not only expands our capabilities, it is also a business we know intimately. When Jazd was initially launched under a publishing partner model, Questex was its first partner and the four initial Questex and FierceMarkets directories continue to be the largest, most-searched directories on the site.”
Gumas noted that the Jazd global B2B directories deliver over 2 million impressions per month from prospective buyers seeking information on the platform’s more than 100,000 suppliers. The platform covers four sector groupings, including Life Sciences & Healthcare, Information & Communications Technology, Hospitality and Industrial.
