Local Newspaper Guild to join partner to bid on Philadelphia newspaper properties
The AP is reporting that the local Newspaper Guild may join an unnamed partner to bid on the Philadelphia newspaper properties, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News. The bid from the newspaper employees group would likely go up against bids from the current owners George Norcross and Lewis Katz who would be bidding separately.
“The company seems to be gridlocked. No major decisions can be made,” Bill Ross, the guild’s executive director, said according to the Associated Press. “There’s no leadership.”
