Former Clinton Global Initiative account executive to drive corporate and digital sales initiatives at Foreign Affairs
René R. Pérez has joined Foreign Affairs magazine as an advertising account executive. Based in the New York office, Pérez will focus on expanding corporate sponsorships and online advertising.
“René’s creativity and strong client relationships will be a huge asset as we expand our portfolio of advertising partners,” said Lynda Hammes, Foreign Affairs publisher. “As our digital footprint grows, he will be a crucial player in the innovations that we are offering to brands that wish to reach the Foreign Affairs audience.”
Pérez previously served as the primary representative between the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) and member/sponsor organizations. Most notably, he aided in the development of Commitments to Action, CGI’s effort to amass financial and nonmonetary commitments to confront global challenges. Pérez’s responsibilities also involved recruitment of new members, guiding member engagement throughout the year, and coordinating CGI’s involvement in year-round events.
Pérez’s previous experience includes working in public relations for the New York Yankees and Major League Baseball. He is a graduate of St. John’s University in New York.
Pérez is the newest addition to a business team that has already made strong gains in the areas of online advertising and corporate relations. The magazine is launching a responsive website in early 2014, which will offer exclusive launch-sponsorship opportunities. The magazine’s deepening relationships with corporate marketers also includes a collaborative event series highlighting global investment opportunities in emerging markets.
