B2B publisher GIE Media updates magazine apps, now ‘redesigned and optimized for iOS7’

The Richfield, Ohio based B2B magazine publisher GIE Media has issued iOS 7 related updates for its magazine landscape industry magazine titles.

GIE Media has 13 iPad apps inside the Apple App Store. All the titles are stand-alone apps with the exception of A Garden Life, which is a Newsstand app, and its only title aimed squarely at the consumer market. Not surprisingly, when sorted by “bestsellers” this is the app that comes up first.

“We decided that the only way for a B2B publisher to compete in the consumer magazine industry is to make a digital-only magazine, but we wanted to make it very engaging and very rich,” Chris Foster, President and COO of GIE Media told TNM earlier this year. “So we used the Apple platform, because if you take a look at most of our downloads some 96 percent are on the iOS platform, the remainder are on Android or (Kindle) Fire or something else.”

Other apps include greenhouse magazine apps for Greenhouse Management, Nursery Management, Garden Center, as well as Snow Magazine and Recycling Today.
