Publisher of American Banker, SourceMedia names Minna Rhee as first Chief Digital Officer
New York, NY –– September 26, 2013: SourceMedia – a B2B information, marketing solutions, research and events company serving the financial services industry – today announced the appointment of Minna Rhee as Chief Digital Officer. Rhee has held senior leadership positions in digital marketing, strategy, operations, and consulting across a variety of industries, most recently at the digital marketing agencies Zeta Interactive and Organic Inc.
Rhee’s appointment as Chief Digital Officer, a newly created role, comes amid SourceMedia’s accelerating efforts to expand its digital and marketing solutions capabilities. Over the past three years, the company invested significantly in these initiatives, hiring key staff and implementing fundamental process changes across its business lines, with the aim of strengthening its position as a specialized provider of interactive marketing services and deepening audience engagement on digital platforms.
Rhee, who reports to SourceMedia Chief Executive Officer Doug Manoni, is charged with overseeing the company’s digital strategy and operations, and advancing its progress toward these goals. “Minna is one of those rare executives with extensive experience in three key sectors – digital development, web-based marketing, and strategic consulting,” said Manoni. “I’m confident her experience and insights will prove invaluable assets in driving SourceMedia’s continued success.”
SourceMedia’s industry-leading brands, including American Banker, The Bond Buyer, Financial Planning and Accounting Today, attract a loyal online audience of close to two million visitors a month: senior-level professionals doing business in dynamic market segments. Expanding upon these brands’ digital success – websites and mobile applications; social media activities and virtual events; custom marketing solutions and lead‐generation products – is a key growth opportunity for the company.
“Source Media has such strong brands in the professional space and has already built a strong digital presence,” said Rhee. “I am excited by the opportunity to develop innovative solutions and to further the company’s leadership position.”
Most recently, Rhee was Chief Executive Officer of Zeta Interactive, a full service digital agency. She joined Zeta from Organic Inc., a New York-based digital marketing agency, where she served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the New York office. Prior to that, she was a Client Director at Avenue A / Razorfish where she led engagements with brands such as Pfizer and Cigna. Previous roles include Vice President and General Manager for Viant/divine, where she oversaw the New York pharmaceuticals practice, and Manager within the Strategic Services group at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Rhee holds an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
